Brief: "The Nightmare is Real"

Overview

You are stuck in a Giant Spider's nest and you have to hide while trying to escape. Obstacles in the forms on cracking eggs and slowing webs.

​

The Spider searches until it sees you at which point he will fire webs until he loses you. Try and escape the multi level dungeon.

Conclusion:

A quickly made project with a 4 day turnaround. I experimented with new avenues of game production with variable music for detection. Using some quick witted problem solving, I avoided a complex solution for circular movement by rotating the cylindrical map. Modelling the map to be modular makes it easy to expand. A robust idea free to expand that I am very proud of.

Project Responsibilities:

Quick/Efficient Work: Created 2 working levels with regard to progression, unique encounters and enemy design in 4 days. This included creating all the scripted functionality.

Gameplay Design: The game controls simply with WASD and is easy to understand without any prior game knowledge. Each effect is visually & audially distinct so it can be understood quickly 

​

Level Design: The obstacles and challenges make this game. Challenges like perspective and planning were important to consider while making this game.

​

Image Editing: Creating and Editing sprites like spider webs and the spider detection indicators.

​

3d Modelling: Made the map in Blender. Discs and the background made to be modular.
